Thank you all

Postby halftonstude » Sat Jul 04, 2020 1:57 pm

I joined this forum to meet people who are experts at something of which I am still learning - my 1952 Farmall Cub. Since then I've had pleasant exchanges with many here, and wish to express my gratitude; thank you all very much. It took me 18 months to complete an absolute tear down pull apart no two pieces left touching (and my wife was kind enough to let me keep the finished cleaned and painted parts in the basement!!!) and this spring started haying 200 acres with a buddy of mine. Need to paint the rear wheel weights, and I now know I have the wrong seat cover colors.... but red and white are SO pretty... The lil ole cub is good for a side discharge rake, hauling things around including a half height wagon (thank goodness I got made new liners for the brakes and turned new faces on the drums) and pleasantly enough, when I started working the tractor I didn't find things loose. Governor has a couple hundred rpm catchup thingy going on... I'll need to figure that out, but it carries its own very well. Here are a few pictures of the completed project from a couple weeks ago. 4 fields got mowed today, will ted tomorrow and Monday and then I take a half day off of my normal job Tuesday to rake and bale!
If per chance someone sees something not right, please don't be afraid to tell me. I won't sleep over it and will fuss and futz until I get it right. All the bolts are correct except two that are hard to see holding the touch control (searched and bought pounds and pounds of IH bolts on fleabay to get the correct ones...) and I know there are some eagle eyes out there that scour photographs for thing! Let me know! Thanks for a great forum!!
