Drive Housing Grease

Postby Ricaroo » Fri Dec 11, 2020 2:58 pm

I removed the grease plug from the Distributor and replaced it with a grease fitting, then greased it until it came out the hole on the other side.
I removed the plug from the Drive Housing and replaced it with a grease fitting as well, the manual indicates Apply several strokes of the grease gun to the drive housing fitting, is it possible to over fill the Drive Housing with to much grease? I not sure its even been greased...

Thank You,
Rick

Hi,
Good that you are greasing the Battery Ignition unit.

The front portion of the Battery Ignition unit has a hole you can't see when it is on the engine, that excess grease would come out of, into the area where the Battery Ignition unit drive is. There is a little empty space in that area.
It would take a lot of grease to overfill the front portion of the Battery Ignition unit.

Below is a pic from TM Tractor of the front of the unit, showing the hole. :)

Below is a pic of the Battery Ignition unit drive, there is a little empty space there, that excess grease could go in. The oil seal is there too.
