'49 Cub at work

Postby Flemmingth » Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:55 pm

Time for cutting down and bringing home some fire wood, so the little red wonder is doing some serious work. Fantastic vehicle to get around in dense vegetation.

I like your setup. Looks like the tool box will hold a lot.

That's some serious blocks of firewood on the second level of the trailer in the first picture. :worthy: Wonder how much manpower it took to get them loaded that high up? :big say what:

Yeah - really nice. Only the chainsaw can't get in, so it must rest on top of the load.

Well - I'm from '51, 5'10'' tall and weighs 180 lbs, so no Superman here.
But - I've made fire wood since '86, so I have experienced a lot of handling techniques over time.
The trailer is 20" and the blocks are 20" long. Tumble the block up on 10" piece of wood, up on the trailer, up on another 10" piece and finally up in the top layer.
Many wonder that I bother, but our neighbour, who has a diary farm with 250 cows with breeding, is happy to have his small woods cleaned up, we have all heating for free, I get a lot of nice exercise in wonderful free nature, so . . . . :{_}:

OK, now I understand your method, as my Grandpa would say to a reluctant worker, "get the work done, one step at a time". I applaud your ingenuity.

Just bought a '50 Cub. I live on a timber farm. I'm going to school on your toolbox and rig. Nice!
