steering wheel/ shift knob restoration?

Postby dnolan » Wed Oct 25, 2006 10:06 am

Can anyone tell me if there is any way to restore/ refinish my cubs steering wheel and shift knob. They are both in really good condition, but the "finish?" seems to have worn off and now I get black all over my hands when I drive it. :( Thanks in advance for your responses.

Yup:

EJP uses Plasti-Dip.. I think it is. I haven't been able to find it, so I am using Rattle Can Poly-Utrethane Gloss to seal the wheel and the knob. In fact, I am doing the gear shift know today for my Hydraulic Valve for the Blade project.. "thanks Rick :!: :D :D :D "

my dad is my repair guy for these kinds of projects. He uses jbweld for the cracks or bondo if he has too and then sprays them black and then a clear coat to finish.

Steering wheel restoration

I filled the cracks on mine with JB weld and then painted with Krylon plastic spray paint. Worked real nice.
