Re: throw out bearing
I believe these are a unit. I purchased a few in excellent condition from "hamiltonbobscubs" on ebay. They were in like new condition.
When you get done there my three int154's are waiting for you to restore too???

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Re: throw out bearing
I don't know about the 154 & 185 throwout bearing, but the 184 throwout bearing supposedly has a replacement bearing only (as long as the cast iron carrier assembly is still good). The 184 replacement bearing is; NAPA Bearing # BRG N3055 and is from a 1972 Chevy Luv Pickup - it is about $25.00.
Attached are pictures of a 154 and a 184 Throwout Bearing carrier assembly. In a second post, I will post a picture of the NAPA bearing.
Hope this helps, NJDale

Re: throw out bearing
NJ DALE, Thanks for the info, I checked around a little , and I guess the 154 is a 1-unit bearing, bearing and carrier. I do Know that hamiltonbob carries the bearing for the 154. thanks again,Jim

Re: throw out bearing
Couldn't pick out the TOB in the drawings, but it appears there are 2 different clutches in 154's

Re: throw out bearing
IH supplied the 154,185 & 184 throwout bearings as a complete assembly, carrier and bearing. They still have new assemblies available - for a price. I have been told that the bearing itself can be pressed of of the cast iron carrier and the NAPA bearing pressed back on in its place - for a "new" replacement at a lower cost. I have not actually done this myself.
