So it looks like parts of it may have been red at one time then painted yellow...
needs some TLC....
Looks nice though.
the mower deck is sitting in the barn...not sure kind it is...it doesn't look like the other pics i've seen.

Mower looks like an early Woods 42C-2,3, or 4 to me.

Re: MI Antique picks
the PTO pulley and one of the smaller mower belt pulleys are there...the other pulley is missing.
looks like the oil pan took a hit.
its also got a seal leak at the back end of it...
and while crawling around...I couldn't help but notice that big hole.
its in the bell housing right behind the oil pan, so clutch/trans area...
..is that normal or is it missing something?

It's missing a thin sheet metal cover. http://www.tmtractor.com/new/cl/475fp.htm

Re: MI Antique picks
last pic.
this is the SN plate, what's left of it...
It looks like the only numbers ever stamped were "950" and the "J"
looking at the numbers by year chart this would be a '55 then?
or is there another feature that would make it identifiable as newer than that?

Re: MI Antique picks
Check the casting codes of major components. The format will be numbers for month and day and a letter for the year of casting. TM Tractor has a list on their website.

Yes. I didn't see anything in your pictures inconsistent with 1955.

Re: MI Antique picks
That is definitely a early 1955. They did not punch the hood for the access holes to oil the generator in the earlier 55s. I would say that where you are seeing red is just the primer and that it is in its original yellow color. Nice score! Please preserve it the way it is. Very Nice! Jeff
