You don't see to many of those original tamper proof !! wires on cubs any more, I thought there was only one of those wires on the governor.?

There was only one. As I recall, it went through 3 bolt heads (including the adjustment bolt). I have a tractor with the seal wire going ONLY through the adjustment bolt. I assume it didn't come from the factory that way.

I just looked at mine it's a thin braided wire with a lead seal only going through the hole in the adjusting bolt head and looped behind a mounting bolt. I don't know if that's the way it came from the factory. It looks original ?

It is a fairly fine braided wire (cable?) with a lead seal. I just checked the parts book to see what is called out for hardware. The governor housing is held by two 3/8 bolts. The shorter one is a standard bolt, 1-1/2 long. The other is 2-3/4 long and is a special because the head is drilled the same way as the adjustment bolt. The length is called out in early part catalogs.

The wire in the governor bolts is a seal wire to keep people from tampering with the governor adjustment. At this point, IH probably isn't going to void your warranty if you remove it.

Hi,
I have seen the seal in the past.

Below is a picture of where the wire and seal goes on the governor.
The high speed limit bolt, and the bare metal bolt holding the governor on the engine, below the high speed limit bolt, each have a hole drilled through their heads, sideways.

The wire goes through the holes, and the lead or whatever seal is about half way between the bolts.
