Well I checked over the pics in the manual and they seemed pretty complete. I decided to just pick them up since they looked good. Guy wanted $275 and I gave him $250. Need to be cleaned up and painted.

He also has a fast hitch but I don’t know much about those.

I think you did okay on the cultivators.

A fast hitch is great to have since you can change implements a lot easier, but that plow you bought will not work with it and the rear of those cultivators is a bit different.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

It seemed like a fair price for the condition. I’ll have to clean them up good as it looks like they sat outside for a while.

I wasn’t sure on the fast hitch. I wasn’t sure if it was missing parts. I already have the regular plow so I passed on that.

Cleaned up the cultivators yesterday and got them primed. My daughter decided she wanted to help out, so I let her paint some of the parts. Going to paint them this weekend.

Had to break a few of the bolts loose to move some parts around. That was fun. Ended up using my crescent wrench and the handle off of my floor jack for extra leverage, along with lots of PB Blaster. Greased the couple fittings that I could find on them as well.

I'll test fit them on the tractor soon and make sure everything moves properly. :tractor:

Hi,
Below is the Cub 144 Cultivator owner's manual. It has lots of info and shows how to put the cultivator on the Cub.
Page 10 shows the Universal Mounting Frame, it has the front part of the cultivator on it.
The frame is made so other Cub cultivating implements fasten to it, so you only need to buy the frame once.
Start putting it on by sliding the long square shaft through the square hole, from the left side of the Cub.

You will need setscrews for the 2 holes at the bottom side of the square hole. :)

To add to what Glen posted, on the set screws, do yourself a favor and get actual set screws. They have a cupped taper on the end. You’ll thank yourself, because if you use regular bolts, they will deform on the end when you tighten them. And it’s a pain in the butt to get them back out again. And use a jam nut in combination with them, so the set screw remains tight

Below are pictures of the setscrew I use at the square hole, for the Cub 22 mower. It uses 1 setscrew.
The square shaft doesn't go all the way through the hole.
There may be setscrews with 6 sided heads.

Mine came with tapered bolts screwed into the part that mounts on the square tube. The tractor also has tapered bolts screwed into the front bolster. I think that’s what you guys are referring to.

I’ll try to take some pictures tomorrow when I have some time.

Ok cool. I don't have a press. Maybe I can just bring that one part with me to the next Cub Fest. I've never used a hydraulic press before, I could learn something new! :)

It's literally just a bottle jack in a frame that will put downward pressure on something that you are holding against the press frame.

The IH tapered head bolts are used to hold some implements on the Cub, where there is a taper at the bolt holes on the implement.
They are different than setscrews.
Setscrews have a hollow end, that digs into the metal it is tightened against.
Below are pics of the tapered head bolts from TM Tractor Parts, to show the difference from the setscrew above.
