Farmall Cub questions.

Postby Sod Buster Mn87 » Sat Apr 28, 2018 1:42 pm

So with out rambling on too much I'm looking for something bigger than my CC 1450 but maybe 1/4 the size of my Farmall 350. I'm wondering if a Cub would fit the bill. I want it for a 125×175 garden but might expand it later. I want it for mainly cultivating but if it could do other things would be great. I'm also wondering how hard attachments would be to find. Aftermarket or oem. My other thought was a Farmall A with an add on 3pt. How would a Cub compare?
Thanks,
Sod Buster

Cubs are great for the garden. Depends on where you live about finding equipment.
Every home is a school, what are you teaching?

No complaints about a Cub. The only problem is changing implements. I'm an old guy with a bad back. Takes me a long time to change implements and a lot of back pain.

They are pretty good garden tractors, depending on garden size. I use to trailer my Cub, plow and disk harrow to son's garden. Did that until I figured out that I could till the garden with the 2 wheeled garden tractor in much less time than it to takes to load up the tractor and equipment and the unload.
I have an excuse. CRS.

If you purchase a cub all else will fall into place...You'll end up with a field full of implements and several cubs to put them on...Look into a fast hitch and you can change several needed implements easily ( of course you need them all )....Only problem you'll find is the addiction never goes away..We're looking into transporting them to the big field in the sky...No luck yet though...Dave :tractor: :tractor: :tractor: :tractor: :tractor: :tractor:

I subscribe to the "A cub for each implement" theory. Easier on the back!

Just under a half acre...perfect cub size.....a cub will support closer row spacing than an A but it will be slower at getting the job done. Dad grew just about everything in the same sized garden as you propose....and it works great as long as you dont have to switch out to the mower every week. If you have a strong teenager...that problem goes away......

Agree with the others, a Cub is perfect for cultivating a garden that size. It will plow and disc equally well. That's primarily what an F Cub was intended to do. That said, a Super A is slightly bigger but with double the horse power and a 540 PTO.
