radiator and air filter hose

Postby yellercub » Mon Aug 27, 2018 9:23 pm

What do you guys do for radiator and air filter hoses? The last time I needed short pieces of hose like this was about 20 years ago for my C and I got it local, but darn if I can remember where. I think it may have been a place that serviced tractor trailers, but don't even know where there are such places near me anymore. I guess there is always Ebay.

Any auto parts store should have a selection and be able to cut to length. Sometimes it's pricey. I think TM Tractor (sponsor at the bottom of the page) sells them individually or as a set of 4.

I just bought the set from TM. Very good quality and a good gem look. What I caution against are the reproduction tower clamps. I bought a set and most of them failed upon installation. Of the few that went on, only two tightened up enough to make a seal. Stick with worm drive clamps!

The air breather hose is 1 1/4 id x 2 1/2 inches long, the outlet radiator hose is 1 5/8 id by 2 3/8 inches long, the inlet radiator hose is 1 3/4 id by 4 inches long. If you order them from TM, they're already cut to length and you can find them here:

Thanks, I order some from TM, along with some new gaskets for inlet and outlet elbows, because I figure the only way to replace the radiator hoses is to remove the elbows.

You are correct - you can cut off the old hoses, but to install the new ones, it's best and easier to remove the housings.
