What is a Cub Blade worth?

Postby cjet69 » Thu Sep 27, 2018 11:35 am

I was wondering what the going rate for a Cub blade is. Here are a couple for sale near me that I was looking at. They look like they might be missing a few parts. The first one they are asking $300 and the second is $250 for the blade and plow.

250/300 dollars are the going prices if in pretty good condition and complete, of course the area you live in does come into play sometimes.

The top one looks like a 54 which had a few design weaknesses. The lower looks like a 54A but has a bunch of lift arms missing. If you look up the blades in the PDF manuals, you can see the differences and also what's missing.

Lots of missing pieces parts on both. Not worth the asking prices. The plow is not Cub related.

Thanks for the info.

I have a cousin that has some parts for an "A" blade. Would any of those parts interchange with the cub blade?

Very unlikely, but with some modifications some of the might help you out some.

The top pic is a 1948 blade, and from what l see it's complete. Both rods and pivot arm are there, and the long bolt for the mounting yolk is there. The only thing l can't see are the square blocks for the long bolt.
Since that model blade was only made one year it's rarity might add to value. Personally if l were selling mine, l'd be asking at least $250.

I paid $400 for a complete one for cub and got one for a loboy a few years later for $250. Complete is the name of the game...
