3 pt. rear loader
Hi folks,I purchased a 3 pt rear manure loader a while back(hardly used)for $150.It raises up as high as the 3 pt. arms will go and then it has a large cylinder to pick it up the rest of the way over the side of the spreader(gravity down)Is it possible to mount this on the front of the cub?I was thinking of running two pieces of pipe from the drawbar(making a bracket secure to the drawbar but allowing the pipes to pivot)extended out beyond the front tires accepting the 3 pt. set up on the loader.Use the touch control to raise and lower the pipe frame, and add a hyd line to run the cylinder. The loader itself weighs about 200 lbs,and I figure another 100 lbs of manure. This would make my cub so handy in the barn but will it work without breaking it,or do I have too much time on my hands?Any input is appreciated.I should add that my cub is a 1950.

Hi Whitey. There's pro's and con's about what you want to do with that set-up(hanging that much weight on the front-end). Myself, I would go for it. You'll have to fabricate the entire framework to place the attachment as close to the tractor front as possible, the more things hang out in front, the harder it will be for the T/Control to lift it. It sounds like you already have this thought out and have a plan of attack or you wouldn't have bought it. Use common sense, have fun, and post some pics. Rick
