Project Update

Postby denton » Mon Feb 06, 2006 9:41 pm

Finally got a couple pictures on my site. Engine is for all practical purposes back together. No head or timing cover but that's not a biggie. Hopefully I will get time this weekend to completely finish the engine including fan, starter, distributor. I will wait on the flywheel and clutch till I lift her off the stand and get ready to install
engine.

WOW! You don't mess around when you strip a Cub down. Keep the pictures coming; they are a good inspiration for me to restore my '49...

Denton,

Nice to see someone elses photos. I just finished disassembly this weekend. I hope to bolt a few parts back on this week. I've disassembled almost everything, like you did. Virtually everything except the engine block and bell houseing have been separately blasted and primed. I've been trying to keep pictures of the while project, but I'm a few weeks behind in posting. My pictures are here http://lappie.org

JimCT - Your in my neighborhood, I'm doing a restore of my '54 in North Branford. PM me sometime, we should talk. I'm in North Branford.

Keep up the good work guys!

Denton,
Looking very good. Keep the updates and photo's comming!!
You'll be in the seat before you know it :D
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Blackjack, I wish that my cub even had a chance of looking as good as yours did from the start. Great pictures.

Hey Blackjeep,

Great looking pictures. Speaking of pictures, the one over the bandsaw isn't too bad either... your sister?

Nice shop. Wish I had the same. Maybe this summer or fall I'll be putting up a barn to work in. Your pix are an excellent diary of "how its done".

Since finding this site, I've gotten a burr under my saddle to get my Cub perked up. Problem is, I use the Cub as a working machine. If she was all detailed out, I'd have to get another one for a user. Found two non-hydraulic Cubs here in town which might be candidates. Have seen the hydraulic units for sale on eBay every once in a while. Will have to see what the dollars add up to.
