adding to the collection. is this addiction?

Postby getitrunning » Thu Aug 03, 2023 1:36 pm

for some strange reason I'm addicted to collecting old farmalls and international small tractors. I recently came across a guy with three cubs two cub underbelly bush hog mowers a set and half of cultivators and some misculanious super a parts mostly inside a barn that have not moved for probably a dozen years. right up may alley. just what I need some more tractors that need work. also found a super nice yellow international cub with woods mower that looks and runs just about like new, price is very fair but its 1000 mile drive, and there is this 140 that is a three hour drive that I cant get out of may mind. just got some parts for the 154 but its been raining all day and I dont like working in rain under the big shade tree.

Yup, sounds like you've got it. There is no known cure.

I just bought one recently and can see how people easily end up with several. Fortunately, for now I'm out of room as all of my outbuildings are full and I'm not big on leaving stuff outside if I don't have to.

do I need the 12 step program. I just brought home another 48 cub. but in all fairness this one is very nice for 75 year old machine, only a few spots of rust smaller than a dime. perfect tin and the finish mower looks to be in perfect condition.. still has original ih carburetor that is perfectly clean inside but only needs a valve and seat.
but the problem is I'm thinking of going on a 1000 mile drive to get another 48 cub

I've had this tractor addiction for close to 23 years now. Don't be surprise you will end up with other makes & colors of other tractors, This is how bad my addiction is. 1948 cub, 1950 cub (not a demo), 1955 cub-lo boy, 1958 cub lo-boy, 1975 cub blue stripe, 1947 farmall BN, 1957 farmall 230, 1972 International 140, 1972 International 464,1941 John Deer H, 1949 8N Ford, 1965 Case 430 & a fairly recent model Massey Ferguson 2607H which I haven't figured out what year it is, it has a weird serail # plus a couple cub parts tractors & a rear half of a farmall A tractor, I got the Massey last November & I just got the 230 about two weeks ago. I've been thinking about building a 2nd. Garage.
