Flashing Caution Light
I have seen a picture of caution light mounted above the rear tire. If I remember correctly it mounted to a flat bar that was bent to mount somewhere and get the light out above the fender. I am thinking putting one on my 1955 Cub plow tractor might be smart. Any pictures? Is it correct for a 1955? Both sides. Yellow in the front, red lens in the back did of the lamp? Size of bar?

Re: Flashing Caution Light
the fender light showed up in the 60's on the 12 volt cubs, it could be retro fitted to earlier ones

Only the one side? Now to find one, even just a bracket.

Place a "wanted" in the Vine. Also check with JP Tractor Salvage (best to phone).

Re: Flashing Caution Light
Hi,
You asked about if the safety light is correct for a 1955 Cub. The 1st mention of it in a Cub operator's manual is in the manual with the date of 12 20 55, that manual is probably used with the 1956 Cub.
Below is a page from the manual showing the light.

There is a bracket on Ebay but it isn't cheap.

Re: Flashing Caution Light
The safety light in the 1955 manual is different than the one in radioguy's picture. It had a long cable and was designed to attach to the back of a towed implement as needed.

Re: Flashing Caution Light
Hi,
Yes Jim, the light brackets are different than newer ones I have seen in pictures.
I thought he would like to see that a light was available about then from IH, since he asked if the light was correct for a 1955 Cub. It may not have been available until 1956, but I don't know.
The description for the light in my link above says, "A safety light with mounting parts is available for use on the tractor, or trail-behind implements when transported on a highway at night."
I thought "on the tractor" may have meant attached to the left fender.
Anyway, that is the light they had at that time.

Re: Flashing Caution Light
Put a flasher in series of the wiring. Flashers are just power interrupter that cycle current through the flasher.

Re: Flashing Caution Light
You hook up a little flashing module (barrel shape) that you can get at any auto parts store and connect it on the hot lead to the light
