Woods 42 mower help
I have what I believe to be a woods 42 belly mower. I have looked at a few diagrams and think it is either a c-2 or a c-4. As the diagrams look the same. What I'm trying to figure out is are the parts diffrent for the 2 mowers. Example bearings, seals, blades.

I can't say for sure, but maybe you can compare a few parts in the various model manuals:

Re: Woods 42 mower help
It may be easier to use https://www.messicks.com/vendor/woods to find parts numbers and differences.
I know that the -6 mounts with a pin, not a bolt. it also uses a different belt. But like you I have found very little difference with the other - numbers.

Re: Woods 42 mower help
trying to post a picture and says its to large to post. I'll try to figure out what is wrong with picture file. As for the mower I know for sure it's not a c6 cause those the arms detach from the deck. My arms are welded on to the deck. I know I'm missing some parts to lift the deck. Instead they have a chain. Other than that it looks just like the one you all have showed me.
I can take my belt in and match it. That's not that big of a deal. But I want to put a new set of blades on it. But really wasn't sure what to get. Or are they the same blade.

You may do better at agi supply https://www.agrisupply.com/bush-hog-bla ... e/p/10511/ for the blade

Re: Woods 42 mower help
Also missing the pully shield. That I'm not worried about.
I do think that I need a belt guide on the deck.

Re: Woods 42 mower help
The spindle for the c-2 and the c-4 are the same I believe. They came with either a fixed blade or a quick change blade.

Re: Woods 42 mower help
if it has a clutch suspect its a C4 model, clutch needs to be oiled, the belt sheild also had the serial and model # on it, always thought that was dumb by woods, many toss the shield and the info with it

Re: Woods 42 mower help
I haven't took the pully apart to see if there is a clutch. I just figured it was by the way it looked. Would a basic oil be fine for it. I'm going to pull the mower out of the lean to. And service it here soon. Last year it mowed the lawn just fine.
