I got a grader blade

Postby IHCubCadet147 » Wed Mar 20, 2024 12:17 pm

A few weeks ago I picked up a grader blade for my Cub. I got to try it out over the weekend doing some spring driveway maintenance. My dad helped with the 882. It was washed out a little, and we pulled the gavel back on that was plowed off over the winter. I really like that you can tilt the blade, I was able to crown the driveway so hopefully the water runs down the sides instead of the middle now. The Cub ran great, and the blade worked great, I just need a little more practice. It’s a little different than a Cub Cadet with a front blade.

After that, I finished it with my 125 and rake. Now I need a rake for the Cub. We have a almost mile long dirt road, that needs work in spots. We’ll probably be at it again this weekend if it’s nice.

Nice work! You might want to consider dragging a square of chain link fence with a little weight on it to get a similar result to the rake. But either way works fine.

I got a drag harrow at tractor supply https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/catalog/drag-harrows and am very happy with it.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Thanks. I have seen that done before, I need to try it sometime.

Good for you, getting a blade for your Cub! I would love to get one for mine someday. Looks like your team of tractors are doing a great job on your road.

the blade mounted under is the ONLY way to go! its useless out front! You can do fine grading with it under the cub after some practice! Looks great!

I agree. I had mounted it on the front first. It worked ok, but it’s much better in the middle. I don’t think I will ever go back to a Cub Cadet with a front blade for this kind of work now either.
