Governor Rebuild

Postby 67_Lo-Boy » Wed Mar 20, 2024 3:48 pm

Can anyone point me in the direction for parts to rebuild my governor? When throttling up, the governer is not functioning properly. Thanks in advance.

TM (sponsor at the bottom of this page) has the parts you are likely to need.

What is the governor problem you are running into? A lot of symptoms can be cured without a full rebuild. It may only need some adjustments.

Hi,
Before removing the governor, check the throttle rod adjustment ahead of the carburetor. It has to be set right so the governor works right. The governor can work bad if the yoke on the rod is adjusted to the wrong place on the rod.
The LoBoy originally came with an IH carburetor, someone could have changed it to a Zenith, which were used on Cubs later.
I sent you a PM, you get to it at the top of the page.

I agree with Glen. Very rarely is something wrong inside the governor. make sure all of the linkage from the throttle to the carb is free and adjust the linkage between the governor and the carb per the manual.

Do this before you decide it is the governor.
