Rear lift arm bar
Can someone measure their lift arm bar and see what the length is. I bought one for the cub and the rear rockshaft won't slide on to the arm. Kinda looks like it was cut and re drilled for the cotter pins.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
I don't understand the question. The bar in your picture attaches to the arm of the rear rockshaft with two bolts through the holes in the bracket at the center of the pictured part.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
That part came with 2 different sizes of the large hole. The one for tractors with Fast-Hitch had a smaller hole. You need the version for non-Fast-Hitch tractors.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
I'm not sure on the name. I'm sorry for that I'm a newbie.
I'm pretty positive it's not the black part cause that's the second set that I had and neither sets will fit it. I've only came up with 2 diffrent part numbers neither fit.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
It takes a while to learn the right (or even commonly used) names. But, as you can see, we need to get as close as we can to using the same names on things. The part in your first picture is a "lifting bar". The part in your second picture is a "pressure spring rod swivel". A lot of people might come up with "swivel", but few would come up with the full name without looking it up (like I just did!).
You should be able to find a part number cast into your swivels. The Fast-Hitch swivel with the smaller hole is part number 1874B. The non-Fast-Hitch swivel with the larger hole is part number 1855B.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
I emailed the people who I bought it from to see if they can be returned or exchanged for the right ones. I don't see any visible numbers thru the paint. I'm going to wait on a reply before I take the paint off.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
The one on the left is the second set and is the newest one. Cant make out the part number because of the paint. The one on the right is from the first set I bought. They are a 1874b. To me in person it seems that black one is slightly bigger.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
I got the lift bar off ebay. I feel like that may be the problem. Thats why I ask if someone could measure the length of one to see if its the same length. I was thinking the ends were wore down and someone cut the ends off and drilled new cotter pin holes. If that would even be possible.

Ok “Indy72” here you go…
The Lifting Bar on my 1949 CUB with Touch Control, non-Fast Hitch, measures an overall length of 20 1/4 “; 1” diameter round bar stock.
The Plate for attaching it to the Rear Rockshaft is 9 3/8” from the left end, 10 3/8” from the right end; plate itself is 3/8”.
The 1855 B Swivel has an oblong hole which measures a nominal 1 1/4” by 1 1/16”.
Here’s a couple pictures…
Due to file size, may have to post other picture separately !

Re: Rear lift arm bar
My over all length is only little over 8 inchs. So I'm assuming that the Lift bar has been cut down. So my question now is with it being so much shorter if I grinded it down to fit would it then make everything els off and not fit right.

Re: Rear lift arm bar
Burch store says that the swivel is a new 1855b and sent pics showing they are right size. They do accept returns. I leaning to a bad lift bar.
