I've taken all parts off of the front end to replace gaskets, cleaning and painting.
My question pertains to the order of reinstalling. Actually, whether the steering gear housing assembly and the steering gear housing base should be mated on the bench prior to installing on the tractor or can the housing assembly be installed on the tractor and then the housing based installed to the housing assembly on the tractor?

Re: Front end reassembly order
I'd assembly them together. Easier to do on the bench than under the tractor.

Re: Front end reassembly order
I use an engine hoist to then move the assembly into place for installation onto the tractor...plus an assistant is VERY helpful, since the assembly is rather awkward to maneuver.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking.
