Clutch Adjustment

Postby Bob Grieb » Fri May 12, 2006 9:18 pm

I have an early model Cub (S/N 4003). I want to take the floor out to clean and paint it. In referring the the shop manual I have it shows a slotted lever and cap screw to be used to adjust the clutch. I do not hove either on my clutch pedal, nor is there a tapped hole that would suggest parts are missing. I am reluctant to continue the disassembly process without first understanding the clutch adjustment method. The clutch on my Cub does disengage. Has anyone run into this situatuation?

Thanks for your help.

The clutch pedal on early cubs was adjusted by a turnbuckle inside the torque tube.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that!
