What Color Was A Cub 23A Drag Disc?
I found an original cub drag behind disc, it's set outside so long, can't see any original paint. What color where these originally? It was purchased new with a 1950 cub, Also Was it a rope or a chain that you pulled to adjust the angle of the disc? Thanks Brandon.

Ones in good condition, are going for aroun $500 on ebay. I think a board member paid 560 for a fresh one on ebay a yr ago or so, one just sold a couple of months ago for 500.
i wouldnt take anything less than $650 for mine, as good as it is. Always open to taken offers though as it seems i dont need it anymore. Ofcourse, ifn i end up little low on funds one day i may take a little less.

Holy mackerel! I got mine for thank you. One of our board members was going to junk it if no one came to pick it up. It was a little roughin the it had no paint and i had to replace half the discs because the were shot. Still not painted but ir works like a charm. I was greatful and thankful at the time. After reading this post I am evenmor so. Sort of like Santa came early.

That sounds like mine! I have a 38 for a Lo-Boy that I have used in my garden for several years then got a rusty old 23 last year. So I have used them both on the same patch of ground. It is amazing how much better the 23 works. Maybe because it has more weight? I also like the fact that it is a tandem and puts the soil back where it found it. The only advantage of the 38 is that, as a lift disk, you can use it in tighter quarters. For gardens, the maneuverability can be a big plus.

Jim:
That is the one thing I wish my out-throw conversion was capable of.. but as in all things one must compromise. Em doesn't want the grass all cut-up with the pull type disc harrows, and with a single gang it did a number on the lawn, a double gang would probably really mess it up. But.. it would be nice to have the second gang put the soil back... Frankly, with all the work I have to do, I don't much want the damage from the harrows on surrounding lawn either.. way too hard on the Deere
The lift type does have advantages though especially in a situation where one has more than one garden on a larger lot.. Much easier to transport with a lot less collateral damage....

Yep Doc was right I paid $560 for my 23a and I love it. We got a fast hitch lift disk with 130 and it does not do a 1/4 the job the 23A will. Condiserding what Bill paid for half the disks for his I still think it was good price for somthing I did not have to work on.
Rudi. If the ground is dry and the disk is folede up it barly markes the ground just rolles over the top. At least in the clay soil I have here. Although a single gang disk just means more seat time
