Some quality seat time

Postby dirt devil » Fri Jan 19, 2007 5:32 pm

Today I installed the second set of rear wheel weights, and tire chains on today as well as change the oil and filter. Then Kathryn and I went plowing. Boy didn't we have fun. I was really impressed how well I could push snow with them installed. I've always just used one set w/chains.

Happy Plowing Dave

Johnny

I also have a double set on the front wheels from when I was using the fast hitch disk harrow, it helps when I am pushing snow with the blade angled. I can hold a straighter line. I wasn't going to put the second set of weights on the rear untill the other night when I was using the carry all with wood in it. I had to bring in some fire wood so I loaded the cub up and then had to plow a path to the door. Well I back dragged the snow out and then pushed it in the other direction. I was happy with the extra weight in the back so I decided to install the second wheel weights to see what it would do. Of corse a good set of chains will always be needed in my opinion. For what its worth one set of weights and good chains a must, second set of weights even better but not totally nessessary.

Clem

I really like the carryall especially now that I can use the blade and the fast hitch will stay stationary with the hold up bar that I bought from Ralph. It really makes a great setup when you need to bring in a little fire wood or carry the kids around and don't have to worry about the rack going up and down and up and down for no reason. Kathryn really likes it that she can ride with me even if it's not on the driver's seat. If curious I can take a couple pics and post.

Jeff

I will Snap some pics toaday and post them so that you can see what I am talking about. The hold up bar was designed to work with the cub 22 mower holding the fast hitch up while you raised the mower up and down so there would be a limited amount of stress on the lifting arms.

Dave,
I gotta have one of those.
Could you take some pictures with dimensions and diameter of the rod.
This seems like something Rick Prentice could easily make.

Peter - If I recall correctly, Rick P. made the ones that Ralph had for sale.

Peter

I got mine from Ralph and he has them on the web site under cub 22 mower parts. Fast Hitch Hold up bar $18.

It was well worth every penny in my opinion.
