I like #2 better because it seems mostly original and comes with two very useful implements. #1 is missing expensive pieces, has "repairs" that may not be desirable and I can't tell if the helper spring assembly is on the tractor or with the fasthitch.

They both seem to be within reason on price to me. You'd be getting a good deal on the fast hitch with #1, but as you see comparing the two rattle can paint jobs can be pricey! #2 comes with two good implements for the same price as #1, just ain't as purdy...

I agree - both seem to be reasonable prospects. Now, it's time to start dealing. :D

The helper spring and bracket are in the top of the photo, next to the lift rod.

Dave:

I like the looks of #2 as well and with the L54 and the Woods deck.. you have everything you really need. The fast hitch with #1 is also useful, but is lacking the implements. #2 is the better deal on the surface.

I'm thinking buy both. Swap grilles. Put the Fast Hitch on #2 and blow out #1. :D

Buy them both. One can handle the blade and the other can handle the mower. This way there is no cussing as you switch the implements back and forth. Your wife won't have to kick you in the seat because you didn't buy them both. Remeber your leg is always too short to do this yourself.
