I wonder if it is the gauge. I have two , one was on our BN and the other I purchased new for the Cub I had the same concerns on our Cub , as it was a rebuild.
Note : All these were done with middle throttle range

New one: pressure would go to middle range, when warm would drop to the low side.
Old one : start up would max out , when warm Middle range
So I swapped out the pressure gauges Old on Cub: max out on start up and middle warm . Bn was middle then low.
So I found it was the gauges.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to check it with air pressure, then if I'm still not satisfied, I'll order one. I'm not sure my ammeter is working right either, but the battery stays charged so I'll keep on mowing till I have a chance to check it out too.

I checked the gauge with air pressure. Seems to be working fine. Started the cub and it went to just over halfway on the gauge. After about 10 minutes of mowing it was down to about 1/4. So I'll just keep an eye on it.
Thanks again for everybody's input.
