Opinions on Cub Trailer prices?

Postby CTdave » Wed Sep 12, 2007 8:56 am

So, what is a fair price on an origonal Cub trailer? It is "in good condition with all metal straight and solid. Minor rust, easy restoration". Model # 629. Does anyone know the dimentions?

I've seen them ask $1500-$2000 for them. But I've never heard of one selling for less than $1000, even if it was rusty. There was one at redpower, I believe they were asking $1500 for it, and it didn't have the correct axle setup, it had leaf springs of some type. But the box was in good shape.

Don't get to Torn Up over the trailers, like I did. The trailers were not made by IH. They were produced by another company and IH put a serial tag on them and just sold them. The boxes are all the same but the frames are different. They made at least 3 different hitch designs, but the boxes were the same. They were sold to other dealers besides IH during the same years. You can find one like I did, I thought it was a cub trailer but it wasn't. The boxes are the Identical same thing. I bought an original cub trailer frame and bolted my box on it. The extra axle, hubs, and wheels I have came out from under the first non-cub trailer I bought. It had leaf springs and didn't tilt. They are the same as the original cub trailer frame I bought.

I also have an original mccormick trailer brochure from after the cub trailers stop production, and it has the model 10 trailer in it, it's the same box, with an even different kind of dump latch hitch assembly.

There was one on e-bay that closed yesterday that a member of this board was selling. But it was not in good shape, it was beat rather hard and rusted badly. It sold for under $400... $382.78 to be exact
