Look at this and read the description. Remember a couple months back a picture that was posted on here of a lowrider cub? Evidentally they were common:

Brandon, thanks for putting that one up for us to see, it is definitely strange and is the first one I've ever seen. Pete

That's a pretty neat old Cub! Never seen one or heard about them. I sent the guy a few questions - hope he gets back :D

Thanks for posting that black and white picture, I couldn't find it? Do you think these were a dealer conversion deal? They are kind of racey looking? Anyone know anything about Avocodio's? Why would you need such a low tractor?

Brandon:

If I remember correctly from my brief 2 + years living in Southern California, that Avocado Orchards grow short trees. Avocado trees are not that tall and the lower branches even on skirted trees are quite close to the ground. Like an Orchard tractor, whatever they use needs to interact with the prime reason the orchard exists. This is going back 30 some years... well 1976 to be exact.. so I hope it is relevant.

I would like to see more information on these Cubs and other odd-ball variants.

They are kind of racey looking?

I'd say, could you imagine using that setup with Rick's V-6 Harley transplant :?: 8) 8)

With Harley in it, you would probably need air shocks to go with it and neon undercart lighting package :big crazy: :brainfart: :help: :big smile:

I'm wondering how grease would stay in the drives with them upside down. You'd have to have some good axle seals. If they leaked, I mean when they leaked, gravity would be against you, all that grease would be on your brakes.

I requested some more pics from the seller, of the front axle and tie rod setup. I may have to build one. I guess it's a pre-55 lowboy.

OK...

What would you do with this cub other than spraying? You couldn't cultivate or mow...too low to raise up the cultivators and mower. Can't plow, geometry all messed up for the plow...

Seems to me that all you could do is spray and pull a small cart around... Nonetheless, I would REALLY like to have one like that... they are kinda neat looking!

It states that it is 36" to the top of the hood. What is a the same measurement on a LO-Boy Cub?

Bob,

They must have had a little trouble dropping the front as much as the rear. The Lo-Boy is 41", so dropping the 7 1/2" offset of the finals should have made it 33 1/2" to the top of the hood.
