Did I do the right thing?
Well I went and did it. I traded the cub in for a super A. I felt I needed more HP. I'm not sure I got a good deal though..maybe! I traded my rebuilt cub, disk, plow, front blade and $800. What do you think?

That would depend on the super A and equipment you got in exchange.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

The super A is in real nice shape. Oh I forgot to mention I also traded in a very nice oliver 2 row corn planter. I really wanted to keep the planter otherwise he wanted $1300. He also delivered it close to 200 miles to my home. The super A has no implements, so my search will now bein looking foe plow, disk, cultivators and probably another planter. I'll try to post photo!

You say you gave $800 with the Cub and planter. Did he want $1300 and the Cub with out the planter? Or did he want $1300 with no trade at all? A rebuilt Cub with plow and disc would bring around that much.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Here's a picture of the Super A.

Looks as though I will have to wait till spring to try her out. It came with no implements. I'm going to look locally for the things I need to hobby farm in spring!

If both of you are happy with the trade , then you did the right thing. If i had to choose between owning a cub or super a , the super a would be the one i would own. But they both have their good and bad points.
for cultivator work having independent front and rear rockshafts is a plus. i noticed the one in the photo needs the rear rockshaft rod straightened. As far as i know they are not supposed to be arched .
Horsepower wise you will be happy with the super a i beleive. I know i really like mine.

They become bent from using too much down pressure or striking obstacles. Straighten it or it will get worse.
