Recently I pulled the head off my '49 cub, cleaned and hand lapped all the valves. Replaced the fan belt with help from you guys. Cleaned out the radiator and oil pan. Got her back together and the governor went to hunting. Read some old posts here as was able to fix that issue also.
TM parts has been great with extremely fast shipping and excellent parts. I did all this because the ole girl used to smoke and had low oil pressure. She no longer smokes and maintains good oil pressure.
I have not driven her yet but that will probably happen tomorrow when I put the gas tank back on. So thanks to everyone and this shows that even a novice can work on these things. I did have help from one of my local gear heads for moral support. 
. But she does run pretty good, after a trip to town to get a sediment bowl gasket. I will decide when to look at a ring job later after running her for a while.
