Light switch Question - gettin there!

Postby paviking » Sat Nov 24, 2007 10:53 pm

Is it normal for the light switch on these cubs to run hot? I notice when I turn the lights on after awhile the one terminal seems to get pretty warm. Is this normal? Posted a few new pics on Cubfest Host. Thanks in advance. Greg

A little warm would not be unusual but very warm or hot indicates a bad connection. The most likely source would be a dirty, worn or loose switch contact. The only way to really know would be to dis-assemble the switch and check. Is it hot on both bright and dim settings? Dim lights use a dropping resistor which will generate heat.
Check and clean all the connections to the switch and see if that helps.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
