plowing

Postby boldpsi » Thu Dec 06, 2007 4:12 pm

yep, the only thing in don't like about the blade on the Cub, is that the standard mounting holes for the skids leave the blade about 1" above the surface of my gravel driveway. this is fine, but it'd be nice if they went a little lower (this picture is gigantic, in order to allow you to actually see the skid under the blade, on the right side, near Stormy's head):

Dave,
Could be that your edge is worn down. The replaceable wear blade should look like this:

I always thought that you were suppost to push the snow out the door not in  Your cutting edge looks fine. 1" of snow on the drive shouldn't be a problem. If you leave the skids off you may have to rake the gravel out of the yard next spring

Dave

I love the pics, as for your skid shoes I find that I use mine the first part of the winter then once I have a good hard base I take them off. The base is almost like a tarred driveway. I always find gravel in the lawn no matter what I do to prevent it.

Yes the plow angles left and right.

Are you located in Maine? If so where?

Very nice, looks like you're getting lots of work out of it. We're supposed to see snow this weekend...I'll believe it when I see it!

Dave,

I'm down in New Gloucester over by Shaker Village. I'm looking to buy my first Cub sometime in the near future. Had a 53 Super C that my Grandfather had but it was just too big. The Cub will be a nice fit.

I tell people I plow snow all winter with a Farmall Cub. A lot of people want to know where to buy one. :D
