I think that by that time dot head bolts were no longer in use. But that is my opinion only.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Mike, I have never heard of "FC".

From this thread, so far, we have learned that:
*DOT head bolts were used up until at least 1955.
Some DOT head bolts had grade marks on them so this leads me to doubt that the dot was left by a lathe, anyway it does not look like a lathe mark or have any turning marks that I can see. I can't imagine the cost.

* IH head bolts were used up until at least 1970 Do we have a later tractor out there with IH bolts?

*WP markings confirmed on a 1-owner 1974 Cub.
Do we have any earlier tractors with WP bolts?

* WP markings were used to allow the factory to sell bolts on the commercial market.

Andy, I highly doubt bolts were segregated for Lo-Boy, Cub, or Cub Cadet production. Once the tooling changed and inventory on the line and in the dealers was exhausted, you got the current production. Manufacturing can't work any other way on a practical basis.

Jim Becker has confirm IH bolts up to 1970. My 1974 has WP bolts so hopefully we can narrow this down with input between 70-74.

Anyone with a 1956? We have a 55 with DOTs and a 57 with IH

I have a 56 Fcub. Unfortunately it is at Rick Prentice's so I can't check the bolts....
