Oil Filters From Terry Reamer

Postby pete1941 » Fri Mar 28, 2008 7:19 am

Just wondering if anyone had ordered Cub oil filters from Terry Reamer in the last few days. If so, did they come with the filter gasket? I know they are soon to have a price increase, so need to order, if the gaskets come with his filters.

Hi Pete,

I had also heard that the price was going up on Terry's (and supposedly) everyone else's filters. Some have already gone up substantially!

I don't know the answer to your question on the gaskets, as I have just placed my first order with him. I can report back to you when I receive the filter!

Thanks Ed, that is what I needed to know. Down here the Fram doesn't come with a filter gasket and that was what I was concerned about. Appreciate the info. Pete

I recently received a dozen from Terry and the NAPA filters have the gasket as does Wix filters. Wix probably makes them for NAPA, but you can't beat Terry's pricing.

Thanks Don, just came in from the shop a few minutes ago and just now got here to the Forum. Been working on the Cub, had a little fire on her yesterday and I am just about finished a total rewire. A word of caution to EVERYONE, no matter what you are working on, on a Cub, take the battery cables LOOSE. I knew we were supposed to, but one of those times, in a hurry, didn't do it, NEVER AGAIN. Got lucky this time, just wiring and no other major damage, bbbbbuuuuutttttt. it could have been a lot worse. The kicker is, we weren't even working close to the wiring when it started. I think the culprit was the metal tab under the gas tank that supports the wiring. There will be some type of plastic or vinyl covering on them when she goes back together. LESSON LEARNED!!!

Speaking of oil filters is anyone stocking up on motor oil? I'm sure were going to take a hit on motor oil prices soon too. I been buying the mobil delvac 15/40 for my cubs by the gallon. If the oil prices get that bad it may pay off to buy 55 gallon drums of motor oil.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

You could very well be right BigBill, might be time to do a little research and price comparisons. Pete

Thanks to all of you at the cub for the business and the good feedback.
I look forward to helping you all beyond the 4-01-08 price increase.
You will always be treated fairly when you call on me to provide NAPA Filters for the cub members.
Have a great spring and summer!
