anyone know where I could find a detailed breakdown of the fast hitch? I think I have a couple of small pieces missing and I need a good diagram to check it out. Thanks a lot,
Billy Ray

It's in here, Billy Ray. Print the appropriate sheets out, unless you want to assemble it next to your computer.

Billy Ray, the fast hitch is also in the standard Cub parts book....
If you don't have one (say it isn't so) either Allen's stuff or Rudi's manual server has it.

A quick question while we are discussing Billy Ray's fast hitch. I have a blade with the fast hitch hookup. The fast hitch "spear" on the blade looks great. It slides up in the hitch and locks in place what appears to be just fine. But when it gets a little pressure on it when you are pulling it forward with the cub, it slides out of the hitch.
My plow works just fine in the same hitch. Is the tab worn a bit? What do I look for? Thanks!!
Roy

Measure the height of the spike. There are two different sizes of them and If I remember correctly the smaller one was used on the 2 prong fast hitch tractors. I believe there was a shim that was put into the hitch socket to push the spike upward so it would latch.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Thanks, BD! Will I be better off trying to find or make a shim, or is it OK to get it bult up a bit with a welder, then ground back down smooth?
If I place a straight edge on top of the spike and measure with calipers, it appears to be .59 on this versus .67 on the plow. Guess that is enough to make the difference?

Big Dog, remember this post? Sorry to bring it back to the top, but do you have any idea what the dimensions on the shim would have been? This has come back to haunt me again. Looks like there is a good bit of difference between the spikes. I am curious what the "original" shim looked like.
Thanks!
Roy

Re: fast hitch parts breakdown
Roy, the shim lays in the bottom of the fast hitch socket. It is 1/2" thick, 1"wide and about 13 to 14 long (about as long as a fast hitch spike).
