Hello everyone, I've recently purchased a 1948 cub and I began to take her apart for repair. The battery was always discharging and I wanted to investigate why! First thing I noticed was that 40% of the wiring insulation was gone and on some area's the wiring was badly corroded through! How is the wiring layed out on this cub? It has a Magneto ignition, but I don't know what wire goes where! Is battery ignition better than magneto? The coil cap is cracked also. It is a 6 volt system, any help would be appreciated! Thanks
Ed

Here is the diagram for the early cubs. There is a lot of information and a later wiring diagram in the Cub FAQ's at atis.net
It will be worth a trip there to see what info is available.
Replacement wiring harnesses are available from Case IH, either locally or online at http://www.cngco.com, or from wiringharnesses.com or OEM Tractor Parts.

Welcome to the forum and to the Cub family
I see Big Dog found the schematic for you. Just a point or two that will help you immensely as you explore this site as well as the ATIS site and the Cub Manual Server.
There is a sticky at the top of the forum entitled : Attention New Members and Visitors Please Read.
Nope, it is not a rules and regulation page, but one that has been compiled by the board guru to help new members find their way around and possibly answer some of their questions.
There is a lot of good information there from the Cub Info, to the Cub FAQ's, the Best of H.L. Chauvin as well as links to the Manual Server and other places of interest.
At the least it will provide hours of interesting reading.
Enjoy the forum, again welcome to the Cub family and please enjoy your Cub - We all do
