Over running clutch

Postby dirt devil » Wed Apr 09, 2008 8:17 am

I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a left hand rotation over running clutch before. I know that the Cub is the only one that I can think of but didn't know if there was any others out there. My thought was to use the 10 to 6 spline sleeve adapter and install a over running clutch so that I could 1)just push the clutch in and stop instead of being pushed and 2) be able to use the more common quick attach pto style coupler. Safer and easier.

So with that does anyone know if the traditional one can be disassembled and reassembled to work in the left hand rotation.

I thought about buying one and taking it apart but at $50 I thought that I would ask first.

Thanks Dave

I can't say for sure but I doubt that you can do it.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Hello Dave,
Remember, Hub City part # 03-31-00640, is the number for the Cub and Kubota Over-Running clutch we discussed. It is made to fit the 31/32" Cub output shaft and to supply the 1-3/8", 6 spline male end. Built for 1,000 rpm P.t.o.'s. CUB. The extra "sleeve" would not be necessary if this was used.
It is 6-21/32" long amd extends the P.T.O. 4-3/4". Also, Made to order by factory if still available, you were going to check??

Steve

I didn't realize that it was the correct left hand rotation, I am waiting to hear back from my distributor. The part number is good, but no pricing as it is a custom made one at a time like we talked. Kevin from Motion is waiting to hear back for pricing. I thought that I would check this route out as well just in case the first one didn't work out, that is all.

Thanks for the clarification on the direction that makes me feel a lot better. 8)
