my new rebuilt motor
i got my rebuilt motor back from the mechine shop a couple of days ago and im in the process of putting it together. i needed 30 over pistons but nobody had them so i had to go 40. my machinest told me that they make up to 100 over pistons for the c60 motor whitch i didnt know that. 20,30,40,60,80,100. my crank was good all he did was polished it so its still std/std and my cam was really good but it still ended up costing 1600.00

Re: my new rebuilt motor
I rebuilt one a couple of years ago with .030 pistons. IH wanted $247.00 just for the rings. Napa had them for $29.95. I forgot how much Napa wanted for the pistons, but I didn't need them anyway.

Re: my new rebuilt motor
For Demo #2 i paid $750 labor. This is what the labor consisted of:
1. complete tear down, take parts in to employer, sandblast while at work, take parts home
2. Complete rebuild of engine (twice) issued a bad main bearing from caseih, had to tear completely apart again to replace and diagnose the problem it had.
3. Complete rebuild of both finals
4. Primer 2 coats, surrface coat paint, 6 coats to cover primer..
5. put tractor back together.
Parts on the other hand was out of control. As every gasket and seal was replaced on this tractor.
I think i got ONE HECK OF A DEAL. thats why #3 is there awaiting her turn.
