Serial numbers?

Postby Kent Greentree » Thu Mar 25, 2004 7:14 pm

Hi I'm new at this computer forum thing so excuse me if I don't have the prodocall down.

My name is Kent.

I have a what I think is a cub but upon finding what I think are the serial numbers down on the front of the block, on the right hand side, by the strearing box I find 8 27 P. I know that in 47 they started with the Letter Q in to signify the year.

Do I then have a predisessor of the cub perhaps built in 46?

I hope some one can set me straight on this or direct me as to where the actual serial numbers is.

Thanks
Kent G

Go here,

http://www.atis.net/CubFAQ/cub_faq.html#q3

to determine your serial number and year of manufacture of your Cub.

Could be that what you think is a "P" is really an "R". Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between similar numbers and letters with layers of paint and/or rust over them.

Good luck!

If your tractor has the engine/transmission offset to the left as with the Cub, you have a Farmall A. The A is one size larger as well as being a bit older. You should find a serial number tag riveted to the left seat support.

Here is an A.
