If you live in California you can get some $ 4.01 allon gas. I am not sure if it will take you any further or give you any more power but it will increase the value of your cub by a few dollars. :D :D :D

Good times even at $4.00 a gallon. Remember when you could fillup the pickup and get a soda for $20.

$4.03 at the pump here today. I am not looking forward to filling up the boat with diesel this summer. I hear the marinas are now around $5. Lets see, 1100 gallons.............Ok, forget that.
Lets see, burning 55 gallons per hour @ $5.............. OH FORGET IT! I'm staying at the dock!

Okay I have to ask. 1100 gallons and 55 gallons per hour what is this thing the USS Abraham Lincoln? $5 a gallon and 55 gph will buy you a lot of Cubs.

Dave

You may have to put the boat in dry dock and live in it. :D :D :D

Last year we went to Alaska for three months in the motorhome. This year we could not afford it

Pony, it's a 50' Bertram sport fish.
Bob, yes, it will be at the dock quite a bit this year.
I'm lucky I didn't run it down to FL for the winter this year. It would be stranded there now because the marine fuel had doubled. I simply can't afford it. It used to cost $12k one way just in fuel.
Sorry to hijack this thread. Now, back to our regulary scheduled program.............Good quality seat time :-:-):

I can remember when 5.00 would fill-up the truck and buy a soda. Also I remember a man fussing about it costing just over 7.00 to fill his new '58 Olds .

I remember $5 dates! $1 for gas @.24.9 cents per gallon,a dinner of Kenny burgers @ $0.19, frys $0.10, $0.10 for a large fountain drink. $1.59 per car at the local drive-in, change left for popcorn.

I think we are dating ourself though.

Relative to the initial post about driving to the post office, does anyone know what kind of gas mileage a Cub gets? I've often wondered whether the Cub gets better mileage than my truck for running errands close to home. That's aside from the pure fun factor of course!! :{_}:
