1000 Loader Hookup Problem

I had the same problem, but decided to use a little southern ingenuity to make it work. I took a piece of gray pipe threaded on both ends and cut it down to desired length, wrapped the threads in teflon tape and bamm got er done! I think the pipe was less than $1 and works just fine especially since you cannot see it anyway.

To make it even more complicated, 3/4 NPT doesn't measure 3/4" anywhere...

Jeff, those threads don't look like 7/8"-18.

NO, those are not 7/8"-18. He just took a piece of threaded PVC and forced it into the hole. The PVC is not tough enough to strip out the threads in the block. However, eventually, it will likely fail. If not from the pressure of the system, just the fatigue from the tractor bouncing around over the ground, and the weight of that return line filled with hydraulic fluid. I'm not sure I would ever recommend this as an answer.

Your right they aren't the correct threads. I have used it like this for quite some time now with no issues. As I said it is southern ingenuity not necessarily the correct way. The loader is more of a novelty item anyway, so for my uses it will not cause any problems. I just use it around the house and for loading implements etc on and off the trailer.

I thought for sure the one on my Lo Boy was a 45 degree angle. I could check the bucket o' parts. Pretty sure it is just a low pressure return/dump and there was just a hose clamp on the hose end. In other words, only the end going into the TC was threaded.

You are correct as the large line is just a low pressure return. The factory tube for the return line was made at a 45 degree angle as illustrated in the manual. That is the only part mine did not come with when I got it. If you have it I would definitely be interested in buying it to keep mine original. I made mine out of PVC hoping to eventually buy the correct IH one.

Sorry, but the bucket o' parts aren't 'spare' parts. I bought the 65 Lo Boy specifically to put the loader on (the arms were cut to fit a Lo Boy/fast hitch), but other Cub projects keep getting priority. Will a photo help? That's one piece that the correct police would never notice if you had one made.

That would be great if you could post a pic with some sizes. You have two loaders? I have seen your International Cub like mine with a loader.

Exactly, Bill. My comment was made tongue in cheek and I agree with you. I have the proper machined part on the way from Earl. It is winter, its cold and snowy and rainy, and I have the time to wait and do it right the first time. I've been the "hare" many times in my day, but the older I get the more often I am the "tortoise".

Yep, the hares make alot more mistakes than the tortoises. If I do just 1 thing a day, I'm happy. Sometimes that 1 thing is making my morning coffee

Well, I got the plumbing all buttoned up and the system filled. Just working the excess air out and I'll be good to go. I used the fitting from Earl that Big Dog pictured above and added some fittings to suit me. I called Earl the other day around noon and had the part in my mailbox the NEXT day from half way across Ohio. I take back some of what I have said about the post office in the past.

Now that is a thing of beauty Denny!!! Too bad my priority is the 77 (head off at the moment) or you would have motivated me to get busy on my loader.

Here is the factory pipe, not a 45 (more like a 30), they called it 'Tube, Sump' and the part is NLA. But it's surely not fancy. I think there are 2 different plugs on TC's, so that thread is all that is 'critical' in my thinking.

Im putting my loader on aswell.Can I still use my TC unit independent of the loader or just loader once the bypass block is installed?
