152 Disc Plow Hookup

Postby JMCHRISTIAN » Sun Oct 21, 2012 8:23 pm

What is the secret to pulling (or backing) over the 152 plow to get it hooked up? My tractor will not clear the disc when I try to pull foward over the plow and backing over it looks to be even less clearance. :help:

Slide it under from the lift side OR

I drop mine in a ditch so I CAN drive over it.

I stacked up some 4x4's, this thing is a beast to hookup, but oh will it roll some dirt!

Let me make it easier for you.

There is a balance to the 152. Make yourself a permanent spot for the plow. Dig a shallow trench or build some permanent ramps so you can drive over the plow.

Hook up the chain as high as you can, and put some blocking under the plow. Lower the plow, unhook, raise and reattach the chain to the height you will use.

Now, lift the plow with the hydraulics. You should be able to attach the plow to the right (lift) side of the tractor.

You can now lift the plow a little further to attach the other side.

Very little lifting required.

I had thought about some type of set up like that, but just wanted to see if I was doing it wrong before I went to the trouble. Thanks for the help.
