Mounting the loader frame.

Postby Jerry56 » Tue May 10, 2005 7:17 am

Does anybody have any tips or tricks for mounting the 1000 loader frame on a Cub. It's out on the fence row, I muscled the frame under it, is it just a matter of "levering" it up into place.
I thought about trying to get a small floor jack under it to raise it into place.

Set some blocking under the frame after you get it under the tractor - plastic milk crates, lumber or anythng stable for the frame to rest on while you are fooling with it that won't collapse or tip over while providing plenty of surface area for the frame to move without dropping off. You'll want the raise the frame to within several inches of the mounting points. Attach the front mount first to stabilize the frame while you work on rear mounts - top hole on the mount for a LoBoy, bottom hole for everything else. Use some short levers between the frame and your blocking to raise and wiggle the frame to the mounting points.

I went over that, it will be a big help!
I've seen so many slick ideas here I thought I'd ask if anybody had one for getting that frame up into place, it's heavier than it looks!!!

It's really heavy when you're trying to mount it, and lopsided to boot. Take your time and be careful!
