carb gasket

I note a small loss of gasoline around, or through, the carburetor gasket. I suspect that the top is warped. Does this also mean that there is also an air leak in, or could it just be weeping of gas out? IH carb.

It is possible to be sucking air in there as well.

Raymond's answer got me thinking normally I would say No, but after so many cub owners have posted about their idle tubes being broken off, I'd have to also agree and say Yes it's possible. With a broken or removed idle tube section, I'd say air could be a factor if the gasket wasn't sealed tight. Do you suppose that the IH engineers were smart enough to realize the carbs would warp and cause idle issues if the idle tube wasn't extended down into the base behind the main jet? I wonder how far in advance the engineers could catch a problem and solve it? You'd think it'd take a few years for problems to surface, unless they had a vigorous testing of the cub where they beat it to death just to get weak points to show up.Wondering minds want to know

Tractor setting level, engine off, seeping at carburetor bowl gasket. My first thought would be that the float is set to high. The fuel level is suppose to be 5/8" - 9/16" below the top of the carburetor bowl.

thanks all. Eugene may be right. It is only a slight moisture so I'm not sure I want to open the carb yet. My problem has been a slight rough idle. I did correct most of it with cleaning the main jet and adjusting the governor linkage.
