it seems 6 volts have made a huge jump in price. i have not been fortunate to get one at 45. dollars , and we have a rual king close by. must be barnyards good looks! i use napa had good luck with them, yes they are also made by excide but to napa specs, cost a little more ,but hold up.

All batteries have taken a huge jump in price, but the 6 volts may be more just based on the fact that the demand for them has to be slowly shrinking as the years go by. It costs the same to "tool up" for 6V batteries whether you make 10 or 100.

I like Deka batteries. They really seem to last a long time, and tend to be a little cheaper than the "name brands."
