I love the winter and snow in New England, also. You guys keep it up there! I get plenty enough here.

Wanna come by and help with the four foot drifts of "hype" I've been knocking down since breakfast time today?

Re: NorEaster
Finally finished. That was a lot of shifting & clutching!
As Larry said, hard to measure but I figure around 16" of light fluffy powder. Wind blew it into some packed drifts.
Eastern CT got the most with Putnam coming in at 28".
Ed better stay inside until the St. Bernards come get him - wouldn't want him getting stuck up to his armpits in the plus 24" that he got in Rehoboth.
Nice and warm in by the wood stoves. Gonna try and get some work done this afternoon and tonight - make up for the playtime earlier!

I had a busy day here in Massachusetts! After I was done, my friend and I attached ropes to the rockshafts and skiied around a parking lot. I did a batwing turn and slammed him into a snowbank. Oh the joys of being young, bold and foolish

Tough to capture the moment with the swirling vortex going on.... but Yogie found no basket on the picnic table!
May have slowed down enough to fire up the Cub and do some plowing.... Thought I was set till I saw the mountain in front of the truck! Just in front is several feet of clear pavement.

Re: NorEaster
There's a pretty good amount of snow here 20 miles west of Boston. The snow is very light so it is easy to shovel. I just did enough for ingress and egress for now. When it finally stops, I'll be out there to finish.
21 degrees here right now, and still snowing.

Do St. Bernards bring donuts?
They had forecasted snow here a couple days ago. It went south of us and evidently saved most of the snow for those of you downwind. We had mid-40s yesterday and the thaw continues today. About the only snow remaining is in some piles we pushed up back in November. Most of the ground is clear.

My daughter has a Great Dane, capable of rescue, if I need it. I can make my own donuts, if deliveries can't get through, so I'm all set!

Jim,
My oldest son Erik moved to Helena, MT in October. He texted me yesterday at about 5:00 Mountain Time - 54 degrees and sunny! In his t-shirt washing his truck.
Of course back in November they had over a week of single digit temps.

Leaving tomorrow for the sunny South. Time to leave this miserable white stuff and the accompanying frigid temperatures behind. For those of you going to DSCF, see you there.

Here is a screen grab of the video of me plowing in Pittsfield today. 3 hours to get the whole driveway done.
