hand crank crankshaft pulley

Did all Cubs have hand crank capability or did the hand crank pulley become obsolete in later production models? Thanks.

Electric start was an option.

All offset Cubs had the ability to be hand cranked. They eventually quit shipping cranks with them if they had electric start.

I'm aware of the electric start option. What I'm looking for is did ALL Regular Cubs/LoBoy models excluding the number series 154, 185, 184 have a crankshaft pulley that will accept a hand crank. I can not find any reference to this in the parts manual. Thanks.

Stan, there are three revisions to the part. The 1954 catalog has an R2 and the 1979 catalog has an R3. One minor revision was the addition of a 10 degree BTDC notch. R1 just has the TDC mark and my late cubs have them both. A revision does not change function - that would be a different phone number. My 1950 has one notch and my 1977 has 2.

Thanks for the information. I checked a bit further and found that the crank pulley will accept the hand crank. I was glad to discover that the engine is not stuck :D even though it has been sitting out for many years without any protection at all. Fortunately the exhaust is underslung. The hood/fuel tank and dash may not be salvageable but that's not a big problem. Stan
