rear seal leak

Postby winton » Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:51 pm

My question is there still a member that machines rear seal retainer's? My friend had his cub motor rebuilt at the local IH dealer 5 or 6 years ago and now all at one time it starts pouring motor oil from inspec hole. Maybe they glued the new smaller seal? Will soon have to fix one way or the other. Thanks winton

If the oil is coming out of the round clutch inspection hole, I would look for a transmission front seal leak.

Drain the transmission/differential. Could be, probably, has quite a bit of water from condensation.
