I've got a 67 Lo Boy. Just trying to get the carb clean and ready. Is there a way to remove this screen or is it permanently placed inside the fuel inlet?

Re: Carburetor fuel screen
Apparently it is replacable. Bob McCarty had some available some time ago. McDonald Carb might also be another source. You should be able to back flush through the needle valve seat with some carb cleaner spray using a straw extension.

Re: Carburetor fuel screen
Since you have the float and needle valve seat out, take a small allen wrench, enter from the seat and push it out. Your's appears to have the remnants of a fitting (the brass colored ring). That may need to be removed in order to get a tight seal with the next fitting. Your screen looks clean, I doubt that you really need to remove it.

Re: Carburetor fuel screen
Hi,
You could try soaking the screen with carburetor cleaner, and then blowing back up through the hole for the float needle and seat with compressed air. That might get the dirt out of the screen.
TM Tractor has new screens, but the one you have might be ok.
The idle speed screw originally had a screw with a spring on it, someone has put nuts on it in your pic, I guess. Here is a pic of it from TM Tractor.

Re: Carburetor fuel screen
Ok thanks everyone. I think I'll just leave it alone since it doesn't appear that dirty.
