Snow blade height adjustment

Postby Curtis » Fri Sep 15, 2017 8:10 pm

A couple of years ago Rickey Racer (thank you again) and some other guys helped me out with information to add a hydraulic cylinder to my blade in order to change the angle from left to right, it works great for snow and for grading my 400' gravel drive in the belly mount position. My question is, has anybody come up with an adjustable skid or wheel system that is quick to adjust without removing bolts for the blade height? I plow my gravel drive and then do a couple of neighbors drives that are concrete.

Bolt a rubber edge on the bottom ILO skids. I plow on multiple surfaces - paved, dirt, stone and grass - and it works perfectly.

Thanks Dave, but I'm looking for an idea to raise the blade about 11/2"-2" for my gravel drive, otherwise a lot of gravel seems to get picked up, especially with a wet snow, and then be able to drop it down for the concrete work. The other challenge is my drive is narrow with a crown to it to keep the water off.

Curtis, do you have these shoes/skids on your blade?

I made these for my blade a few years ago.

I have one gravel driveway and one concrete driveway. I've removed all shoes from my plow now and as long as the ground is frozen I don't have any problems. If the ground is not frozen, I need to be careful and use the Touch Control to keep the blade up a bit so I don't scalp the driveway.
