First Time Working My 1947 Circle Cub

Postby Inspectorjoe » Mon Jun 12, 2023 7:43 am

Since I was spending more time maintaining our pool than using it, we decided to have it removed. But before doing that, it had one last role to play - a place to burn the 68 Leyland cypresses that lined our backyard. I used to keep them trimmed to 12' but let them get out of control, and they grew to 38-40', plus many had thick vines growing through them.

I had been burning them as I took them down, but we haven't had rain in a month and a half and it got too dry to burn. I still wanted to keep taking them down, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to put my new (and first) Cub through its paces. I couldn't be happier with her performance. With only 1/3 acre, I won't have much else work for her and also don't want to run her much before I do some in-depth PM, but it's good to know she can work when called on.

Great looking Cub with impressive pulling capacity. Happy to see it didn't go for a swim.

I fixed your youtube problem. If you click on edit you will see what it should look like.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Yes, I was really impressed with how it could pull. Believe me, the potential for a tumble into the pool was always in the back of my mind.

Looks great. Glad you didn't end up in the pool and that you didn't grab onto those trees too high
